Gary Shugrue

Gary is a highly experienced investment professional who is responsible for promoting the development and deployment of Veritable’s manager research solutions. Prior to joining the firm, Gary was President and Chief Investment Officer of Ascendant Capital Partners and he previously served as Co-founder and Partner of Argos Advisors, an equity hedge fund firm. Earlier in his career he was a Vice President of Institutional Equity Sales at Merrill Lynch, Prudential Securities and Kidder Peabody (back in the day). Gary earned an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Accounting from Villanova University. A hall of fame defensive end at Villanova, Gary was drafted by the Detroit Lions and also played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Sometimes he wears a helmet at his desk.
