History

Veritable is an independent and employee owned registered investment advisor founded in 1986 as Stolper & Co. We are Chief Investment Officers, providing unbiased, integrated investment solutions for families of substantial wealth.

In 1997 the firm merged into PNC Bank and became Hawthorn, A PNC Company. Veritable emerged in its present form in April 2004, when its partners, who had managed the investment consulting business of Hawthorn, completed a management buy-out.

Our professionals are accomplished individuals, who include 4 CPAs, 16 CFAs, 3 JDs and 16 post graduate degree recipients. Their industry experience ranges from 8 to 30 years, and their tenure at Veritable typically spans 8 to 22 years. Over the history of the firm, Veritable has experienced virtually no turnover of senior personnel.

Currently, we employ more than 80 professionals and staff. The three primary functional areas of our firm include chief investment officers, research analysts and trading, operations and technology specialists. The firm occupies a converted farmhouse on 25 acres in Chester County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.
