History
Veritable has grown from the union of Stolper & Co., a registered investment advisor launched in 1986 whose principals were Michael Stolper and Edward Bowman,
and Family Wealth Management, founded by Jonathan Scott in 1993. In 1997 these two firms merged to become Hawthorn, A PNC Company.
The company emerged in its present form in April 2004, when its partners, who had managed the investment consulting business of Hawthorn, completed a management
buy-out from PNC. Today, Veritable is entirely independent, employing over 75 staff members and owned by its 11 employee partners. Michael Stolper, Ed Bowman,
and Jonathan Scott all remain actively involved in leading the organization. The firm occupies a converted farmhouse on 25 acres in Chester County, Pennsylvania,
near Philadelphia.
